Social Media Communications Specialist

We are looking for an experienced social media and communications professional to join Varma’s communications department for a fixed-term, one-year position. The role focuses on developing Varma’s social media visibility and presence, coordinating the social media strategy, calendar, and content concepts, and producing multi-channel content in collaboration with our team and other experts in the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the recruitment-driven social media content producer from the marketing department. Responsibilities include coordinating and developing Varma’s overall social media presence, implementing the channel strategy, building and maintaining a social media calendar, designing and evolving content concepts, multi-channel content production, monitoring and improving performance with analytics, following social media trends and adopting new operating methods, leveraging AI in daily work, supporting colleagues’ social media skills, and participating in media duties and other daily activities of the communications team. Requirements include experience in social media roles or development tasks, evidence of enhancing social media visibility, multi-channel and multimedia content production (writing, photography/videography, video editing), ability to communicate complex topics clearly and engagingly, data-driven decision-making skills, experience using AI in communications, excellent Finnish and good English language skills, and the ability to work independently and implement development work in practice. We value experience in employer branding, B2B communications/marketing, paid social visibility, and interest in workplace, economy, and societal topics.
