You will work as a social guide in the centralized aftercare unit of the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland, working with young adults aged 18-22 entitled to aftercare and their support networks. The aftercare unit is responsible for aftercare across the entire wellbeing region, and the work community consists of 12 social workers, 23 social guides, an activity instructor, two office secretaries, a service manager, a lead social worker, and two responsible social guides. We work according to a systemic approach, and our teams also include a family therapist. At the center of your work is a holistic consideration of the client's life situation and the strengthening of independence skills. You will support, guide, and assist young people in matters such as housing, financial management, applying for benefits, accessing services, and building a meaningful daily life. You will conduct home visits as needed and actively participate in various client networks. You will independently manage the aftercare processes for clients who do not require special support and make official decisions. Additionally, you will work as a partner to a social worker with clients requiring special support. Your workplace is located in Turku, but the work extends across the entire Southwest Finland region. The client base also includes Swedish-speaking clients, with whom you will work in Swedish. We expect experience in official, child welfare, or aftercare work. Success in the role requires a proactive approach, planning skills, flexibility, the ability to take different perspectives, and the ability to work both as a partner, as part of a team, and independently. You have the readiness to meet clients in challenging life situations and act constructively and professionally in various client situations. You can manage your own client portfolio, make independent decisions, and have a broad knowledge of the service system. Additionally, good networking skills and a development-oriented approach will support your success in the position. Good oral and written Swedish language skills are considered a particular advantage, enabling client and official work, official decisions, and daily documentation in Swedish when necessary. The duties involve traveling from one location to another and require a Category B driver's license. We value good interaction and community skills. The possibility of using a private car and familiarity with the Lifecare client information system are considered advantages. The eligibility requirement is a Bachelor of Social Services (Sosionomi AMK). The language requirements for the position are good oral and written Finnish and satisfactory oral and written Swedish.
