Assistant Head Nurse

As an Assistant Head Nurse you are part of the management chain of the eastern service area. Our service area includes Salo, Somero, Kimitoön and Parainen, with emphasis on the bilingual units on Kimitoön and in Parainen. Your role combines supervisory leadership tasks with practical patient care. You participate in the smooth management of the units’ activities, support staff, and coordinate daily work. You also act as a substitute for the head nurse for the entire eastern area. Your duties include caring for mental health and addiction patients according to basic practice. You perform patient care flexibly according to unit needs, at Kimitoön or Parainen. The work includes implementing substitution treatment. The work units are located at Kievarinkuja 7, Kimitoön, and Vapparintie 15, Parainen. We offer a diverse and responsible assignment where you can influence both patient care and the development of unit operations. The job can be partly done remotely, but presence at the units is an important part of the task. Travel between units may be done with the employer’s leasing cars. The position provides a broad view of mental health and addiction services and the opportunity to work in different environments as part of a regional management network. You succeed in the role with flexibility, a development-oriented approach, and the ability to lead your own work and see large contexts. A driving license is required. Experience in mental health and addiction work is valued. Previous supervisory experience and leadership or mental health/addiction training are considered an advantage. Qualifications require a university degree and licensure under the Health Care Professionals Act 559/94, or an earlier approved ability as head nurse or a prior degree complemented with relevant leadership or administration studies. Good command of Swedish and Finnish is required.
