The Finnish-language basic education and upper secondary education services of the City of Porvoo are seeking a class teacher for a fixed-term official relationship from 10.8.2026 to 5.6.2027. The primary place of assignment is Kevätkummu School. Porvoo is a growing and multicultural city. Kevätkummu Primary School is located 3 kilometers east of Porvoo city center. The school operates in two buildings, Kantele-talo and Vellamo. In addition to the school, Vårberga skolan, preschools, a library, youth and sports services, and an after-school club operate in the same premises. The school has approximately 320 students and 35 staff members. Teaching is based on strong and diverse co-teaching and simultaneous teaching, as well as energizing cooperation, which is our school's strength. Kevätkummu School is being developed as a local school capable of meeting the needs of children in the area. We are looking for a flexible and positive teacher for our teaching team. The work also requires adaptability to change and the development of working methods. In the school, basic skills are learned together, creatively, and with joy. The school staff operates as a learning community with a working approach based on research, experimentation, flexible cooperation, and shared expertise. Our goal is to help everyone find the joy of learning and working. Our way of operating requires excellent interaction skills. Eligibility requirements are determined in accordance with the Decree on the Qualifications of Teaching Staff (986/1998). The selected person must have the qualifications of a class teacher. Original certificates proving eligibility must be presented during a possible interview. Considered an advantage: - experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching - experience in co-teaching - good cooperation and interaction skills and a solution-oriented approach - experience in teamwork - mastery of teaching arrangements and group-specific support forms that support the prerequisites for learning - mastery of language-aware teaching Salary is determined according to the municipal education sector official and collective agreement. The person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 3 of the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
