About the role

Then join us at Kilonpuiston day care in Espoo to enable the best possible day for a child! We are seeking a full-time Early Childhood Teacher for a permanent position. Our daycare currently has six groups for children aged 1–6 years. The role we are hiring for sits in one of our 3–5-year-old groups. In our daily work, positivity and community spirit are visible. It is important to us that every child, family and caregiver is heard and seen in our daily life. Our community’s diversity, in both our clients and staff, is a great strength and resource. You will work alongside colleagues, depending on the team, as either an early childhood teacher and an early childhood assistant or two early childhood assistants and possibly a support assistant or group helper. Your day-to-day will also be supported by staff from other groups, the deputy principal and the head of early childhood education unit. We expect a teacher who enjoys developing new operating methods tailored to the needs of the child group. In addition, our collaboration includes a multidisciplinary early childhood education special educator and language/culture teacher. If you have a strong understanding and vision of childhood and the importance of the teacher’s work with children of all ages and can cope well under pressure in surprising situations, you are the person we’re looking for. We offer you our mentorship program to support you starting as a teacher. The Espoo early childhood education will become familiar to you through the mentorship group, and you will learn to recognise your strengths and skills. You will also get material for your professional growth and well-being at work. You will have the chance to discuss the joys and challenges of early career with an experienced mentor and to get to know other colleagues who are starting as early childhood teachers. The workplace name and address: Kilonpuiston lastentalon päiväkoti, Inkoonkuja 15, 02600 Espoo Working hours: 38 h 15 min/week The position is permanent starting 31 August 2026. Eligibility: according to the Varhaiskasvatuslaki (540/2018). At least a Bachelor's degree in Education with training for elementary education, or a university of applied sciences degree (varhaiskasvatus) or earlier equivalent college degree, e.g. lastentarhanopettaja or sosiaalikasvattaja. We also welcome soon-to-be graduates. The successful candidate must provide a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act. Tuberculosis screening is required for those working with under-6 children.
