About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic music teacher with the pedagogical expertise to support diverse learners in the classroom and experience in teaching multilingual students. You will become part of a warm, friendly, and professional work community where we work together towards common goals. We provide thorough orientation for your new role, and supervisors will support your work. As a new teacher, you will be assigned a mentor teacher. During the academic years 2026-2029, we operate at two locations: Kilonpuisto and Kutojantie 2. This position is located at the Kutojantie site. There are 10 teaching hours per week in the upper secondary school. Kilonpuisto School is a multicultural comprehensive school with approximately 700 students. In addition to general education, we have emphasized teaching: bilingual Finnish-English classes (grades 1-9) and a focus on visual arts (grades 7-9). Admission to these classes is via an entrance exam. We also provide city-level special education for students on the autism spectrum. Salary: According to OVTES, basic salaries according to the pricing identifier https://www.kt.fi/sopimukset/ovtes/palkat-palkkiot Eligibility requirement: Qualification as a music lecturer for comprehensive school. Teacher qualifications are determined according to Decree 986/98 on the qualification requirements for teaching staff. According to Section 9 of the Decree, a teacher providing basic education must have excellent oral and written skills in Finnish. For fixed-term positions, we also consider applicants who do not meet the formal eligibility requirements. The position requires excellent group management, teamwork, and interaction skills. We require an educational approach and the ability to engage with young people. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act.
