The wellbeing services county of Western Uusimaa is strengthening its child welfare institutional care services and opening two new units in Veikkola, Kirkkonummi, forming the Lamminjärvi children's home. Both units have 7 specialized places for children aged 13-17. One unit focuses on children with severe substance abuse symptoms and the other on children with severe psychological symptoms. The staff will consist of a child welfare service manager acting as the unit head, BSc instructors, a registered nurse, vocational level instructors, and a shared occupational therapist for the units. A cook-food service worker handles catering, and cleaning services are provided by a service provider, allowing the care and education staff to focus on their primary duties. What we offer you? You will have a versatile, challenging job description that enables professional growth, supported by supervisors and the rest of the work group. The job includes regular team meetings, group supervision, and internal supplementary training based on the needs arising from the work. The work is shift-based, and your preferences will be considered in shift planning. Work is shift-based, and BSc instructor shifts are mainly morning and evening shifts; your preferences are taken into account in shift planning. Instructor (BSc) duties include: - child care and education tasks - primary instructor work in pairs - family and network work - documentation - tasks related to the daily operations of the children's home - active participation in developing the unit's operations together with the work group What we expect from you? The eligibility requirement is a university of applied sciences degree in social services, health, or education, e.g., Socionomi (BSc). Additionally, we require: - experience working in child welfare services or mental health and substance abuse services - Class B driver's license and driving skills - an inspiring and motivated attitude - a work attitude that respects clients and colleagues - good oral and written Finnish language skills - documentation skills - a positive and interactive approach to work - a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act is required from the selected candidate Considered an advantage: - understanding of trauma-based, psychological, and neuropsychiatric symptoms - various supplementary trainings in substance abuse work as well as crisis and trauma work - mastery of functional methods and medication administration permits Those selected for employment may be randomly asked for a drug test certificate in accordance with the Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county's substance abuse program.
