The work also includes assistance in personal care situations, so a natural and professional attitude towards them is important. Good basic physical fitness helps with transfers. I am Mari, a 59-year-old woman with a muscular disease, using an electric wheelchair. By nature, I am a homebody with a touch of dark humor. My favorite activities include baking, sitting in cafes and people-watching, visiting art exhibitions, and occasionally going to the movies depending on my well-being. I also enjoy my own company at home. I have a small old van (manual transmission), so please mention in your application if you have a driver's license. Due to my mobility limitations, I need another person's help in almost all daily activities. I need an assistant to get out of bed in the morning, go to the toilet/shower, prepare food, go shopping, pursue hobbies, and for help with hair and beauty care, as well as getting to sleep in the evening. I need help with transfers, so good physical condition is helpful. To live a life like others, I need helping hands. However, the work is not healthcare/nursing or companionship. I live in the heart of Helsinki. I am seeking a female assistant. The work includes morning and evening shifts and takes place on weekdays, holidays, and weekends. Work is available every day of the year, from morning to evening. Ideally, you would be able to work all shifts flexibly. I also appreciate it if you can cover other assistants during unexpected absences. Fluent Finnish language skills are an absolute requirement. Experience as a personal assistant is not necessary, and no specific education is required; top assistants with many different educational backgrounds have been found, whom I value above all. Work begins with a short paid orientation shift together with my more experienced assistant. Orientation shifts last 3 - 4 hours per time, with 2 - 3 morning shifts and 2 - 3 evening shifts. Work starts immediately upon finding a suitable candidate. Work is done in two shifts: mornings start at 7:30 and evening shifts end at 23:00-24:00. Shift lengths vary, averaging about 8-10 hours. Work is performed according to my well-being; I do not need help all the time, so there are idle moments during the shift that you can spend in my living room designated for assistants. Mutual flexibility is the keyword in this job. Shift schedules are prepared in advance in approximately 3 - 4 week periods. Assistant requests for shift arrangements are considered as far as possible. Hourly wage 14.39 €/hour and +15% evening supplement from 18:00, +25% Saturday supplement, +30% night supplement from 21:00, and +100% Sunday and public holiday supplements. Possible experience supplements according to the collective agreement (TES).
