Special Class Teacher Position - Uudenkaupungin kaupunki - Uusikaupunki, Finland

The City of Uusikaupunki's Growth and Learning Services is recruiting three permanent positions for SPECIAL CLASS TEACHERS starting from August 1, 2026. One special class teacher position (vacancy 552) will be based at Wintteri School, Seikow unit. The Seikow unit has a special education team consisting of a special class teacher, a consulting special education teacher, and two school assistants. The special class teacher is responsible for teaching a class primarily composed of students in grades 6-9. The group serves students who require individual support, either in a special class or through intervention sessions at the nearest school, with support measures planned collaboratively within the team. The position seeks a proactive and development-oriented team player willing to build a flexible and effective co-teaching model to support students. Two other special class teacher positions (vacancies 509 and 551) will be based at Kalanti School. The duties of the special class teacher are determined by the students' support needs. The teacher will instruct a special class or small groups, mainly consisting of students in grades 1-3 and 4-6, who need individual support through special class teaching or small group instruction. We expect applicants to have good collaboration skills, an active and independent work approach, and flexibility to adapt to various and changing situations. The city's Learning Support team supports the work of special education teachers. Applicants may specify a preferred placement in their application. Qualifications are based on the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/98). If no qualified applicants are found, the position may be filled temporarily.
