Special Class Teacher Position - Uudenkaupungin kaupunki - Nystad, Finland

In the services for growth and learning of the City of Uusikaupunki, three positions for SPECIAL CLASS TEACHER are available on a permanent basis starting from August 1, 2026. One position (vacancy 552) is located at Wintteri School, Seikow unit, at the start of the employment relationship. The Seikow unit has a special education team consisting of a special class teacher, a consulting special education teacher, and two school guidance counselors. The special class teacher is responsible for teaching a class mainly composed of students in grades 6-9. The group serves students who need individual support, either in a special class or through intervention sessions at the nearest school, with support measures planned collaboratively within the team. The position seeks an initiative-taking and development-oriented team player willing to build a flexible and effective co-teaching model to support students. Two positions (vacancies 509 and 551) are located at Kalanti School, starting with the employment relationship. The job description of a special class teacher depends on the students' support needs. The teacher instructs a special class or small groups, mainly consisting of students in grades 1-3 and 4-6, who require individual support through special class teaching or small group instruction. We expect applicants to have good cooperation skills, an active and independent work attitude, and flexibility to adapt to various and changing situations. The city has a Learning Support team to assist special education teachers. Applicants may specify their preferred placement in the application. Qualifications are based on the Decree on Qualifications for Teaching Staff (986/98). If no qualified applicants are available, the position may be filled temporarily.
