Job Description
Join us in creating a sustainable society powered by clean energy and reliable connections! We are currently looking for substation designers to join our growing team. You can work from any of Enersense's locations and/or remotely with flexible hours. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills within Finland's leading team specializing in substation design, supported by a dynamic and collaborative work community. The position is located within the Power Business Unit, where we help clients implement energy transition solutions across the entire energy sector lifecycle. This includes the design, construction, and maintenance of transmission networks, substations, and battery storage systems. The business also provides solutions related to electrical substations for data centers. As a substation designer, you will participate in planning various client projects. Your work will include a variety of tasks such as designing electrical systems for large new projects as well as small modification projects. You will also perform different electrical engineering tasks and problem-solving typical for engineers, as part of the design team. Our business includes battery storage systems, so design work related to these systems may also be involved. You will be part of a team responsible for designing and documenting control and protection systems, switching and AC/DC switchgear, relay cabinets, cabling, lighting, and 3D modeling of high-voltage systems, as well as structural plans for substations. The role includes support functions for substation projects, such as documentation, procurement, and follow-up. We do not expect you to do everything alone; you will be part of a highly valued substation design team. Our team has nearly 20 members, so you will have support. There are experts in every area, ensuring you will receive help when needed. Relevant technical education (Bachelor's or Master’s degree), previous experience in designing secondary systems for substations, good project management skills and excellent negotiation and collaboration skills, solution-oriented attitude, flexibility and initiative, knowledge of electrical standards and general quality requirements, familiarity with the specifications of high-voltage substations (Fingrid) will be beneficial, proficiency in Finnish and good command of English is required. Not meeting all requirements? We understand that some applicants may be less likely to apply if they do not meet every qualification. At Enersense, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. If you are excited about this role but your previous experience does not fully match all the qualifications, we encourage you to apply anyway! Join us in creating the best customer experiences! Application deadline is June 24, 2026. Please submit your application soon, as we may proceed with interviews during the application period and will fill the position once a suitable candidate is found.
