Outokumpu is seeking a skilled Senior Developer with experience in Cobol to support and enhance mission-critical MES applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing high-availability transaction processing systems that support core business operations. This role requires expertise in COBOL development on HP NonStop platforms, strong knowledge of transaction processing systems, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, and support organizations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications on HP NonStop systems. - Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and system designs. - Manage the application lifecycle, including upgrades, testing, deployment, validation, and documentation. - Troubleshoot production issues, provide end-user support, and participate in OnCall service. - Optimize application performance and support automation, standardization, and process improvements. - Collaborate with business, QA, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure stable operations. - Apply development best practices, IT security policies, compliance requirements, and safety rules. - Support system modernization initiatives and mentor junior developers when needed. **Required Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience. - Several years of COBOL development experience. - Hands-on experience with HP NonStop is seen as plus - Strong analytical, Technical Leadership, Critical Thinking and high troubleshooting skills. - Proficient knowledge of other programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Python or .NET is a plus. - Familiarity with MES and related systems. - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English **What We Offer:** - A company that values responsibility, proactivity, and independence. - Participation in sustainable work impacting future generations. - Opportunities for professional development and qualifications. - Possibility to work partially remotely.
