Role Expectations The Application Engineer will serve as the primary technical consultant for MSC Nastran solutions, providing both pre-sales and post-sales support throughout the customer lifecycle. This role is responsible for customer technical engagement, solution validation, project implementation, user enablement, and troubleshooting across industries including automotive, battery systems, aerospace, composites, electronics, and general manufacturing. Job Description • Engage with customers to understand structural simulation requirements and develop technical solutions using MSC Nastran. • Deliver software demonstrations, Proof of Concept (POC) studies, benchmark evaluations, and technical presentations. • Support customers in simulation projects involving structural strength, stiffness, modal analysis, vibration, fatigue, thermal stress, NVH, impact, and composite materials. • Provide day-to-day technical support, including model setup, mesh generation, material definition, solver configuration, result interpretation, and troubleshooting. • Conduct customer training, workshops, and best-practice sharing to enhance simulation capabilities. • Collaborate with sales, R&D, and other CAE product teams to support customer success and multi-software simulation solutions. • Develop technical documentation, industry use cases, and solution materials to support business growth and knowledge sharing. Job Requirements • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Vehicle Engineering, Materials Science, New Energy Engineering, or related disciplines. • 15+ years of experience in CAE simulation, industrial software technical support, or engineering analysis. • Solid understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) principles and simulation methodologies. • Hands-on experience with MSC Nastran and structural simulation workflows. • Familiarity with linear static, modal, buckling, nonlinear, optimization, topology optimization, and multiphysics simulations. • Ability to independently perform model preparation, mesh generation, material definition, load and boundary condition setup, solver tuning, and results analysis. • Experience with Patran or ANSA is preferred. • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills with a customer-oriented mindset. • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer support and project delivery. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in automotive, battery, aerospace, composites, semiconductor packaging, or related simulation projects. • Knowledge of Digimat, Marc, Dytran, Fatigue, or other CAE software solutions. • Understanding of composite material modeling, PLM integration, simulation process automation, or Python/PCL scripting. • Previous experience in customer-facing technical consulting, POC delivery, or pre-sales support is a plus.
