The Children, Youth and Family Services result group has launched as of the beginning of 2025 and consists of the family center services and special services for families with children. Over 1,800 professionals work within children, youth and family services. The Special Expert is positioned in a small management team of fewer than ten people. Your Role The primary area of responsibility for this position is the coordination and development of the overall framework for preparedness, readiness, security, and self-monitoring. The Special Expert is responsible for expert work in these areas, the development of operating models, guidance, and ensuring that operations meet the requirements of legislation and authority mandates. The role supports the organization's resilience, service continuity, and the assurance of client and patient safety in all situations. The role emphasizes nursing expertise in the coordination, development, and impact assessment of services as part of the result group's management. Approximately one-third of the employees in children, youth and family services are nursing professionals. Nursing work in these services is primarily carried out in maternity and child health clinics, school and student health care, and children's and youth mental health and substance abuse work. Nursing and medical expertise form a unified whole in the implementation and development of services, which requires close cooperation between professional groups. The nursing framework includes an evidence-based, patient-centered, and multidisciplinary process aimed at maintaining health, preventing diseases, and ensuring the functional and study capacity as well as the safety of the child/youth. The Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland (Varha) is a legally bilingual wellbeing county, and we commit to language-aware management. The expert is responsible for developing services for bilingual and other language groups, ensuring equitable accessibility, and considering multiculturalism. As a Special Expert, you will participate in the support functions of the management of children, youth and family services and will also be part of the children, youth and family services management team. Eligibility requirements include a suitable higher university degree and familiarity with the field of the position. The position requires good oral and written skills in Finnish and at least satisfactory oral and written skills in Swedish. Good Swedish language skills are considered an advantage. Experience in preparedness and readiness planning as well as the self-monitoring framework is also considered an advantage. Additionally, experience in preparing documents for decision-making and applying legislation is seen as an advantage.
