We are seeking a Childcare Assistant for home-based family childcare in Helsinki. You will support families by taking care of the children, helping with daily routines, and assisting with early interventions to prevent and ease family challenges. The role offers flexible scheduling to fit your life, typically 2–4 hours per shift, mainly on weekdays between 15:00 and 20:00. You may work in one family for about 2–3 months, or split a shift across two families in a day. Duties are performed primarily in the clients’ homes across Helsinki, with support from a supervising mentor when needed. We offer: a gross wage of 16.92 €/h plus evening and weekend allowances under the private social services sector TES, a transition bonus for moving between families during a workday, comprehensive paid onboarding, opportunities for regular training and professional development, first-aid training, Finnish-language support from your supervisor, statutory occupational health care, and accident insurance. There is also a referral bonus of 50 € if you recommend Sivina Hoivanet to a friend and it leads to a successful hire. Requirements: Completed LASTENOHJAAJAN qualification or another suitable social/healthcare qualification (e.g., child supervisor, home helper, or early childhood educator), professional experience with children and families, proactive and able to work independently, strong Finnish speaking and writing skills, experience supporting children with special needs (e.g., neurodiversity or disabilities) preferred, and at least one reference from previous work with children; clean criminal record for working with children and registration with Valvira’s register of professionals.
