Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an occupational therapist for the intellectual disability clinic. The occupational therapist's work focuses on rehabilitation assessments, assistive device needs assessment and guidance work in our clients' everyday environment. In addition, according to the client's needs, multidisciplinary interventions in accordance with the Disability Services Act are part of the job duties. With us, you will work in a multidisciplinary working group and at the clinic you will become part of a work community that includes nurses, doctors, psychologists, occupational, physical and speech therapists as well as a rehabilitation counselor. The occupational therapy team is supported by five competent colleagues. Work with clients is done at the clinic, at home, in group homes, in daycare and in schools. In working with clients, you need a client-oriented approach, interest in sensory regulation and individual and group dynamics, as well as the courage to develop operating models together with the work community. Work is supported if you have special expertise in people with intellectual disabilities, the autism spectrum, psychiatric or neuropsychiatric clients and a desire to train as a special expert in the field. We require an active and enthusiastic approach, good interaction skills and the ability to act flexibly in changing situations. We value work experience in the field of intellectual disabilities and/or (neuro)psychiatry and knowledge of both national languages in client work. The working time format is general working time and we use flexitime. We follow the SOTE agreement and use a 6-month probationary period. Eligibility requirement: Degree of Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or a previous institute-level degree. The position requires legalization in Finland in accordance with the Act on Health Care Professionals 559/1994. We require the selected person to be registered in the Suosikki or Terhikki professional register of the License and Supervision Authority. Language skill requirement is good oral and written skill in Finnish and satisfactory skill in Swedish. Before the selection decision, the applicant must present an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the tasks included in the work. The position requires vaccination protection in accordance with Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis investigation in accordance with Section 55. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). The position requires the presentation of a criminal record extract for those working with disabled persons (Act on the Supervision of Social and Health Care 741/2023, Section 28).
