As a specialist in pediatric surgery, you will be responsible for pediatric urology in the pediatric and adolescent surgery unit of Turku University Hospital and work as part of a comprehensive, high-expertise pediatric surgery team. Your Role We are seeking a specialist in pediatric surgery for the pediatric and adolescent surgery unit. Your primary area of responsibility will be pediatric urology, and you will also participate in the care of all pediatric and adolescent surgery patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your work is diverse and responsible. You will work in the ward, day surgery unit, operating room, and outpatient clinic. You will provide extensive consultations within the pediatric service area regarding both pediatric urological and other pediatric and adolescent surgery issues. The position offers the opportunity to utilize your strong specialized expertise and participate broadly in pediatric surgical care. The position includes on-call duties. What We Expect From You We require good cooperation and interaction skills, as well as good oral and written proficiency in Finnish and Swedish. Extensive experience in pediatric urology and the ability to operate independently in a pediatric urological unit are considered an advantage. We also value extensive on-call experience in the field of pediatric surgery and an interest in research, particularly in pediatric urology. Eligibility requirements include legalization or a permit to act in the duties of a physician as stipulated in the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/94) and specialist qualification in a field suitable for the position. The suitable specialty is pediatric surgery.
