Arek is seeking an IT and Development Director to oversee the entirety of the service and development activities. The role leads Arek’s IT services, IT procurements and strategic projects, managing the reform of the shared service environment in a cost-effective manner and ensuring changes bring value to customers and become part of operations. The IT and Development Director is part of Arek’s leadership team and participates in strategic management, bringing IT and development perspectives to decision-making. The role emphasizes clear, coaching leadership, decisive decision-making, and the ability to build trust and engage stakeholders toward shared goals. A central aspect is change management: the ability to lead renewals purposefully, communicate direction and ensure the successful adoption of new ways of working. The role requires excellent Finnish skills, fluent communication, and the ability to translate changes into understandable terms for different audiences. Requirements
- Experience leading service and development activities, systems development, project testing, development portfolio, change initiatives and broad process changes in a business-critical or heavily regulated environment
- Willingness to operate at board level and support company-wide strategic renewal
- Ability to lead a specialist organization in a coaching and goal-oriented way and make decisions in demanding situations
- Strong expertise in IT procurements, supplier governance, contract negotiations, and service portfolio governance
- Understanding of enterprise architecture, information security, cost-effective development and benefits management
- Experience in developing a project office and embedding common practices across a wide development environment
- Knowledge of applying AI in daily work, especially in systems development
- Ability to align customer, expert, and supplier perspectives and build long-term trust
- Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, influence and negotiation skills
- Experience in pension or financial sector or other heavily regulated environments
- Ability to translate customer and stakeholder perspectives into decisions and support smooth governance
