We are Helsinki Shipyard – a shipyard that has designed, built and delivered customized, high-quality passenger ships and icebreakers for extreme conditions since 1865. In 2025, we celebrate our 160th anniversary, and we are proud to continue our story in the heart of Helsinki, at the Hietalahti shipyard. With us, shipbuilding is done from start to finish under one roof – from design and hull assembly to outfitting, interior and commissioning. This makes us a unique workplace: you see your own handiwork as part of the whole and get to follow how a huge ship rises in the shipyard hall step by step. Our expertise is in arctic vessels, but we build everything from superyachts to multi-purpose icebreakers. In fact, we have produced about 50% of the world's icebreakers. With us, you get to do meaningful and practical work in top-level ship projects that combine over 160 years of tradition and modern maritime technology. What job titles do we have in production? - Welder (plate and piping welding by different methods) - Pipe fitter (piping and equipment installations, pressure tests and outfitting work) - Plater (installation of structures and equipment, hot equipment installations) - Interior fitter (air conditioning, cable routes, steel structures, furniture) - Mechanical fitter (engine and deck equipment, system installations) - Commissioning worker (system testing and commissioning) What do we expect from you? - Good manual skills and precision - Suitable education or experience in shipbuilding or similar tasks - Responsible attitude towards safety and environmental issues - Ability to read drawings is considered an advantage - Fluent Finnish language skills Before starting work, we perform a health check, which includes drug testing.
