A temporary primary school teacher position is available at Hähkänän School in the city of Salo, for the period 22 September 2026 to 5 June 2027. We seek an enthusiastic and active primary school teacher for a small, community-oriented school with about 50 students. The class is taught in multiage groups (1st–4th grade in combined classes). The teacher will be responsible for 3rd–4th grade instruction, and will also teach crafts and Swedish. At Hähkänä School you will help develop the whole school together with a close-knit staff, student council, and parents' committee. The school culture emphasizes mutual respect and collaboration; we value good interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to work together and take responsibility for the small community. The position requires a teaching qualification. Qualification requirements follow the decree of the Finnish education personnel qualifications (9896/1998). You should have classroom management skills, quick and flexible responsiveness, knowledge of student support forms, and the ability to work in challenging student situations. We value ability to support diverse learners in a multi-age classroom. The position is paid according to OVTES; after six months you may receive a personal pay progression in accordance with collective agreement. The contract is conditional until the selected candidate provides a health certificate and a police conduct extract as required by law within the specified deadlines. A four-month probationary period applies if terms of the collective agreement are met.
