The role of an educational counsellor emphasizes guiding students in their individual study paths, supporting HOKS work, and ensuring graduation and subsequent placement. The position includes coordinating the tutor activities at the campus and developing cooperation with basic education. It may also involve work in the Kohtaamoympäristö, participation in the Hakeutuminen team, and mentoring dual degree students. Eligible candidates have the qualification for a vocational education guidance counselor according to the A986/1998 Act, §15(1) or §15(2). Successful performance requires broad knowledge of vocational education, experience in vocational guidance, and a student-centered approach. We also value experience guiding students of different ages, culturally sensitive guidance, and the ability to guide students in English. We expect knowledge of possibilities for further education and labor market requirements, networking skills, and the ability to work as part of diverse teams. Independent, proactive work style and excellent collaboration and communication skills are essential. Proficiency with information technology, remote-guidance methods, and software such as Wilma is required. Travel between campuses may be necessary. A probation period applies. The selected candidate must present a criminal background check as per law 504/2002.
