Special Education Class Teacher - Haminan kaupunki - Hamina, Finland

We are seeking a temporary substitute for a Special Education Class Teacher from August 10, 2026, to December 19, 2026. The role involves providing individual support to students through teaching in small groups. The position is based at Pappilansalmen School, grades 7-9, at the start of the employment relationship. We expect applicants to have professional competence, understanding of the reform of learning and school support, skills in diverse differentiation of teaching, neurodiversity expertise, a developmental approach, teamwork ability, and positive pedagogical skills. Special education teachers receive support from a consulting special education teacher. Final weekly hours will be confirmed in the 2026-2027 school year work plan. Qualifications are based on the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/98). Hamina invests in developing learning and school support and recruiting qualified special education teachers. In addition to the task-specific salary according to OVTES, a monthly allowance of €265.26 and a special education workload bonus of €135.81 are paid to qualified teachers.
