Special Class Teacher for Basic Education - Haminan kaupunki - Fredrikshamn, Finland

We are seeking a SPECIAL CLASS TEACHER FOR BASIC EDUCATION for a fixed-term substitute position from 10.8. to 19.12.2026. The role involves providing individual support to students in a small group as part of special class teaching. The placement at the start of the employment relationship is Pappilansalmi School, grades 7-9. We expect applicants to have professional competence, understanding of the reform of learning and school support, skills in diverse differentiation of teaching, neuropsychiatric expertise, a developmental approach, teamwork ability, and mastery of positive pedagogy. Special class teachers receive support from a consulting special education teacher. Final weekly hours will be confirmed in the work plan for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualifications are based on the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/98). The City of Hamina invests in developing learning and school support and recruiting qualified special class teachers. In addition to the task-specific salary according to OVTES, a supplementary allowance of 265.26 €/month and a complexity bonus of 135.81 €/month are paid to qualified special class teachers.
