As an occupational therapist, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in electronic mobility aids and concretely impact clients' daily lives. We offer a versatile specialist role as part of the Tyks hospital services occupational therapy unit in Turku. Your tasks As an occupational therapist, you will work at the Regional Assistive Technology Center of the Specialist Services occupational therapy unit of Tyks hospital services in Turku. In this role, you will develop broad expertise in assistive devices and assessment, particularly regarding electronic mobility aids. Your work focuses on assessing the assistive device needs of clients of different ages, individual fitting, and guidance on use. The work is practical and includes adjusting assistive devices and varying working positions. You will work closely with different professional groups, such as physiotherapists and assistive device maintenance staff, for the benefit of the clients. You will be supported by skilled colleagues from the assistive device unit and the occupational therapy unit. A total of 30 occupational therapists work in the Specialist Services occupational therapy unit of Tyks hospital services. Your supervisor is an occupational therapist. The position requires independent management of work and the ability to adapt to varying work situations. We hope for good Finnish language skills and a readiness to use Swedish, as we provide services in both Finnish and Swedish. A class B driver's license is required for the position, as the work includes home visits in the Varha region using the employer's car. Previous relevant work experience in assistive device work and independent polyclinic work is considered an advantage. The eligibility requirement is a legal qualification as an occupational therapist or equivalent previous registration in accordance with the Act on Health Care Professionals 559/1994.
