**Are you an expert in social and customer service work? Do you want to do people-oriented and meaningful work in a diverse work community?** **We are now looking for a social guide for our unit in Kainuu! The role is full-time and the employment contract is permanent.** Babando provides reception centre services in Kajaani as a commission from the Finnish Immigration Service. Babando is a modern growth company in the social and health sector and a national operator whose team has years of experience in the successful operation and management of reception centres. We provide first-class reception services for persons receiving temporary protection fleeing war as well as for asylum seekers. Our current units are located in Kainuu and Rovaniemi. **Social Guide's Job Description** As a social guide at the reception centre, you are responsible for the statutory social welfare services included in the reception services. Your job description includes, among other things, providing guidance and orientation for asylum seekers and those receiving temporary protection, monitoring and promoting well-being, assessing the need for services and support, processing benefits, drafting statements, and providing necessary assistance in emerging problem and crisis situations. You are responsible for strengthening the functional capacity of individuals and families staying at the reception centre and creating a safe general atmosphere. The work consists of day shifts. You will be supported by Babando's national social work team, and a social worker also works in your unit. The work is multidisciplinary teamwork. **What do we require from a reception centre social guide?** We require you to have the qualifications according to the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015) and the right to use the professional title of social guide. Thorough knowledge of the laws governing reception services and social welfare is important in the work. Previous experience working in a reception centre, in a multicultural and multidisciplinary work community, and experience working with an interpreter is considered an advantage. A driver's license, good IT skills, and good Finnish and English language skills are essential for the job. In addition, we value broader language skills.
