About the role

We are looking for a versatile youth work expert for the Kaarela youth work unit Länsiluotsi in a permanent employment relationship. Is it you? As a youth instructor at Länsiluotsi, you will work in the western district and partially in the southern district. We offer you an interesting and meaningful task where you can use your expertise every day. This work is not done alone, but you will become part of our competent work community. In Länsiluotsi, youth work is done in a youth-oriented way in cooperation with networks. In this job, you will be able to utilize youth work methods extensively in individual and group work. In the youth instructor's role: - you guide young people systematically in individual work and small groups - you work with youth networks - you plan and implement activities together with young people - you promote the realization of young people's opportunities to influence and participate - you produce and use information about the young people in your area of operation and their needs - you create partnerships, cooperate and promote the well-being of young people through networks and your own work - you communicate multi-channel information about activities together with young people This task includes holiday, trip, and camp activities. We work with young people during their free time, so the work is mainly evening and weekend work. In Länsiluotsi, in addition to the task's work, as a youth instructor you also participate in other work of the youth work unit (e.g. outreach youth work, common events of the unit). We are looking for a person who is a strong actor and an organizer of activities aimed at young people. You already have experience in youth work and versatile method expertise. You also have a passion for influencing the well-being of young people and a desire to do high-quality youth work. Success in the task requires good cooperation skills, the ability to dialogue, self-direction and the ability to inspire. As a youth instructor, you promote equality, the realization of human rights and sustainable development in our activities. Your task is to create conditions for the agency of young people. You provide support for young people in their various life situations and work with young people individually, in small groups and in networks. As a youth instructor, you ensure that young people have opportunities to pursue hobbies in their own area and influence their immediate environment. You do youth work in both physical and digital operating environments and utilize data-based methods as well as produce and share information about the region's youth. The eligibility requirement for the task is a suitable university of applied sciences degree, for example, a community pedagogue (AMK). Success in the task requires the ability to recognize the situations and needs of young people and to search for solutions to various situations together with the young person and their networks. We expect from you good interaction and empathy skills, enthusiasm and initiative as well as a willingness to develop and grow in work. Recruitment progress: the application period is 31.7.-31.8.2026, the first interview round is carried out as a video interview in week 37 (7.-11.9.) and the final interviews are held in week 38 (14.-18.9.2026). Work begins on 1.10.2026. Performing the task requires that the selected person must submit a criminal record extract in accordance with section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act and in addition a certificate regarding a drug test to the employer for inspection before accepting the employment relationship.
