The duties of a youth worker include guiding and educating youth, leading groups, planning and implementing activity evenings and thematic events in collaboration with the team, and participating in multidisciplinary networks. The client group at the youth center consists of 4th–6th graders and upper secondary students and older youth. The position is located at the Mukkula youth center, where the work is primarily carried out. The candidate must be an adult and be able to meet youths as a safe adult; good interaction and interpersonal skills are required. A positive and proactive attitude, cooperation, and initiative are expected. Ideally you have experience in municipal youth work and at least a secondary-level qualification in youth work or a University of Applied Sciences degree in community pedagogy. We offer you the chance to utilize your strengths and knowledge, support and sparring from other team members, and team meetings to exchange ideas and develop activities together. In the job you will also have the opportunity to implement holiday, excursion, and camp activities and participate in joint development work of Youth Services. The youth worker’s task-specific salary is 2,744.48 €/month and the working time is 38.25 h/week. Working hours vary between 08:00 and 22:00.
