Work Life Professor, Growth and Commercialization - Tampereen yliopisto - Remote - Global

The Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences form Finland's second largest multidisciplinary, inspiring, and impactful research and learning community. Our core expertise areas are technology, health, and society. We are seeking a part-time and full-time Professor of Working Life, starting from November 1, 2026, or as agreed. The role aims to strengthen Finnish companies' growth capacity, commercialization expertise, and customer-oriented value creation through teaching, research, and collaboration with industry. The candidate should have extensive experience in marketing, customer-driven business, and related commercialization and growth issues, combining practical business experience, research thinking, and effective cooperation with companies. The role addresses Finland's key economic challenge: slow growth, cautious innovation, and weak productivity development. The position is within the Faculty of Management and Business at Tampere University, in the Department of Business Studies, focusing on areas like industrial sales, value-creating risk management, and experiential economy. Responsibilities include designing and implementing teaching on growth, commercialization, and customer-oriented business, advancing research in growth strategies, customer value creation, marketing, and business models, developing work-based pedagogical solutions, strengthening student work-life skills, building networks, and participating in relevant continuous learning services and societal impact activities. Requirements include a doctoral degree or equivalent high-level expertise, significant achievements in business or public sectors, extensive business experience, excellent Finnish and English skills, and strong presentation skills. Preferred qualifications include experience in strategic marketing leadership, network development, and national or international activity in the field. The position is for three years, starting November 1, 2026, with a 40% part-time option, a starting salary of approximately 6,500 euros/month for full-time, with flexible working arrangements and employee benefits.
