Are you an experienced professional in construction who wants to help develop housing for special groups in Helsinki? Helsingin kaupungin asunnot Oy (Heka) is seeking a project manager for permanent employment to work on special housing properties. Heka has over 55,000 rental apartments and more than 3,000 special housing units across 45 properties in Helsinki. The Housing Production unit (Att) builds new and carries out major renovations for Heka. In this role you will act as the client representative and coordinate and supervise new construction and renovation projects for special housing in line with Heka’s goals. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders and ensure projects progress toward objectives. Your close colleagues in the team currently include four project managers and a construction manager who reports to you. The role is new, so you will have influence over its content. You will work with the unit manager for special housing and with property managers and other Heka staff as well as external partners. Typical duties include: planning, scheduling, and coordinating projects; monitoring budgets and timelines; guiding and supervising construction partners; coordinating with internal units, contractors, and stakeholders; reporting and documentation; developing operations and processes. Requirements include a suitable university degree; several years of project management experience (e.g., construction, real estate, public sector or development projects); several years of experience in construction, large-scale renovations, and special housing ARA/Varke production; experience in authorities collaboration and understanding of public construction processes; good collaboration and interpersonal skills; excellent Finnish language skills (other languages are a plus); and strong project management and systematic working style. We work in a hybrid model with flexible working hours. Salary and other terms are governed by KT’s general collective agreement for the company sector (YTES). The starting base salary for this role is 4012.28 €/month, plus experience allowances if you have at least 5 years of qualifying experience. Experience allowances are 5% per 5 years and 10% per 10 years. A six-month probation period applies.
