About the role

HUS is seeking two specialist physicians for permanent positions at the Spinal Cord Injury Center within the Internal Medicine and Rehabilitation division (SISU). Start date October 1, 2026, or as agreed. The Spinal Cord Injury Center coordinates the health, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals with spinal cord injuries. It consists of the Spinal Cord Injury Clinic and the Intensive Rehabilitation Ward. The unit is currently in Helsinki but moves to Jorvi Hospital in Espoo on October 1, 2026. The specialist physician works in the Intensive Rehabilitation Ward and the Spinal Cord Injury Clinic. Duties include outpatient and ward activities, consulting, guiding specialists in training, and processing referrals. Physiatrists may also work in physiatry clinics. Requirements: Specialist qualification in physiatry, neurology, pediatric neurology, internal medicine, general medicine, orthopedics, or neurosurgery, and a medical license. Language skills: Good proficiency in Finnish and satisfactory in Swedish, or vice versa. Experience in spinal cord injury care and ward work is an advantage. Flexibility, initiative, commitment, and teaching aptitude are emphasized.
