We are seeking a gastroenterology chief physician for the Lapland wellbeing area in a permanent position. Start date negotiable. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop gastroenterology in our northernmost central hospital! The internal medicine outpatient clinic has a skilled and well-functioning multidisciplinary team. We have comfortable facilities and up-to-date equipment. The outpatient clinic also includes a shared infusion unit, where outpatient drug infusions are performed, among other services. As a chief physician, you will have a genuine impact on developing operations and building gastroenterology services based on your strengths and interests. Collaboration with gastrointestinal surgeons is smooth and close. We have a new shared endoscopy unit, and a fourth procedure room will be completed soon. The internal medicine outpatient clinic has representation from all key subspecialties, enabling quick and easy consultation practices. The work environment is excellent and collegial. The chief physician position includes informal internal medicine on-call duties. The active on-call component is about 30%, and the on-call workload is moderate and predictable. Part-time work and individual work arrangements are possible. The job description can be flexibly tailored according to skills and interests. Training is an important and natural part of our work. The qualification requirement for the position is a specialist in gastroenterology or internal medicine with subspecialty expertise in gastroenterology. Salary and employment terms are determined according to the Medical Agreement. A 6-month probation period applies. We follow the vaccination requirements as per the law on communicable diseases.
