Welcome as an early childhood education teacher to Laajasuo daycare! We are looking for an early childhood education teacher for a permanent employment contract for a group of 3-5-year-olds. At Laajasuo daycare, you will become part of a warm and community-oriented work community where pedagogical expertise, openness to development, and sensitive encounters with children are valued. For the 2026-2027 operational period, 1-3-year-old groups operate on the ground floor and 3-5-year-old groups on the upper floor. Groups are built from teams of two adults. Our clear structures and functional operating models enable a smooth everyday life and versatile use of the facilities. Our daycare is located along good transport links - you can easily reach us by bus, train, or Raide-Jokeri. In the current operational period, our pedagogical emphasis has been on enriching and developing play and learning environments and promoting children's agency in various everyday situations. This year, our city-wide goal is to promote literacy, which is reflected in our early childhood education activities through various measures. We meet children sensitively, equally, and taking into account everyone's strengths. We want to build an everyday life where the child feels safe to grow, learn, and be heard. As an early childhood education teacher, you are responsible for the construction of your child group's operational culture and learning environment, the planning, implementation, development and evaluation of pedagogical activities, and the support of children's individual learning in accordance with the Helsinki early childhood education and pre-primary education plan, the early childhood education unit's operational plan and the child's VASU. Eligibility requirements: We require that you have eligibility in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or, in accordance with the transitional provision (Section 75), a Bachelor of Education degree (LTO), a suitable university of applied sciences degree or a previous equivalent college-level degree, e.g., a kindergarten teacher's or social educator's degree (Act 272/2005 and Decree No. 608/2005). A recognition decision made by the National Agency for Education on the basis of foreign education for the eligibility for the position applied for also satisfies the eligibility requirement. In addition, we require good oral and written skills in Finnish. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis clearance of the respiratory organs for those working with children under school age is checked (Infectious Diseases Act Section 55). When you start a permanent employment contract as an early childhood education teacher with the City of Helsinki in 2026, we offer you an incentive bonus of 2000 euros.
