Accounting Manager

Orivesi is a vibrant and pleasant town of nearly 9,000 inhabitants in the Tampere region. We are seeking an Accounting Manager for a permanent position in the corporate services of the City of Orivesi. In this interesting role, you will take responsibility for the city's overall accounting and play a key role at the heart of our city's financial administration. You will work as part of the corporate services, collaborating closely with the Finance and Administration Director and leading a skilled financial services team. Your areas of responsibility include: - Overall responsibility for the city's accounting and VAT matters - Preparation of the budget and drafting of financial statements regarding accounting - Reporting to the State Treasury and internal control tasks - Verifying the accuracy of invoices and entries and identifying potential discrepancies - Supervisory duties for the financial services staff What we expect from you? - A relevant higher education degree in financial management - Experience in financial management and accounting, particularly within the municipal sector or public sector - Strong practical expertise in preparing financial statements - Readiness for supervisory duties and collaboration with various stakeholders - Proficiency in modern information systems (Raindance and Accuna BI are used in Orivesi) You will succeed in this role if: - You work independently, systematically, and with a development-oriented approach - You can smoothly advance financial management processes - You are able to work accurately and productively even during tight reporting and financial statement deadlines - You are collaborative and solution-oriented In Orivesi, we have a warm-hearted and active spirit - after all, we are known as the Wool Sock Capital of Finland!
