About the role

The municipality of Merijärvi is seeking an enthusiastic and development-oriented substitute classroom teacher for Koivupuhdo School for the period 15.9.2026 - 5.6.2027. We offer you the opportunity to work in a suitably sized school where a functional daily routine is created and activities are developed together, and where everyone is valued. In this position, you will be primarily responsible for the teaching of the 5th grade. Except for English, crafts, and visual arts lessons, you will teach your own class and additionally serve as a co-teacher in several mathematics lessons for lower secondary school students as a partner to an experienced subject teacher. The position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with teachers of different grade levels and develop your skills in co-teaching. We value minor studies in mathematics as well as experience in simultaneous or co-teaching. The terms of employment and remuneration are determined according to OVTES. If no applicants meeting the eligibility requirements are found, other suitable applicants will also be considered. The selected person must submit an acceptable medical certificate of their health status within 30 days of notification of the selection decision and present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Backgrounds of Persons Working with Children.
