About the role

We are Sweco people designing tomorrow’s cities and critical infrastructure for society, in a relaxed and collaborative work environment where we take our work seriously but not ourselves. We are now seeking an experienced architect to take a responsible role in demanding projects, such as data center projects, and strengthen our rapidly growing field. You would lead architectural design in new-build projects as an architectural lead, coordinating multidisciplinary design efforts to ensure reliability, energy efficiency, safety, adaptability, and close cooperation across disciplines. You will collaborate closely with other architects and design teams. Our current demand is aimed at data center professionals, but you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects. Your tasks include participating in bid activities and mentoring younger designers, sharing your expertise. You will join international, ambitious, technically demanding data center projects where solutions evolve to meet industry needs. In these projects, an experienced specialist can also learn new things. Our architectural studios are located in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Jyväskylä, Oulu and Kuopio. In this role the primary workplace is Helsinki, but we work flexibly and network across Finland. What we promise you: a stimulating workplace with strong growth potential, opportunities to influence business development, extensive training via Sweco Academy, a flexible and supportive work culture, and comprehensive employee benefits. To succeed in this role you need an architectural degree with a qualification suitable for lead designer, experience with data center or large/complex industrial projects, and fluency in Finnish and English. You should also have experience with Revit and ACC. Desirable are capabilities to understand complex systems, coordinate across disciplines, and communicate effectively with clients, authorities and project teams. We value the ability to mentor younger colleagues and willingness to participate in bids and develop data center architecture together with a skilled team. If you are ready to shape society’s digital future, apply now! For questions about the role or our work, contact Data Center Design Lead Kalevi Saarela (phone) and Recruiting Supervisor Anne Viisteensaari (phone), or email etunimi.sukunimi@sweco.fi. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and interviews will be conducted during the application period until 31 August 2026. Sweco designs tomorrow’s cities and a more sustainable society. We combine the knowledge of 23,000 architects, engineers and other experts to advance the green transition, maximize digitalization, and strengthen social resilience. Sweco is Europe’s leading design and consultancy company, listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. www.sweco.fi
