Practical Nurse

Teijuntupa is a 12-bed unit for elderly people with multiple illnesses. As a practical nurse, you will plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care from a client-centered perspective using high-quality gerontological nursing methods. Your work emphasizes maintaining the client's resources and enabling an active and personalized daily life. You will act as the client's primary nurse and, together with the registered nurse, take care of the planning of the client's care. You will participate in the implementation of medication therapy and be responsible for the coordination of nursing care and evaluative documentation within a multidisciplinary team. You will guide and advise clients and their loved ones, and participate in the orientation of new employees as well as the guidance, evaluation, and assessment of students. In your work, you will utilize functional capacity indicators, ergonomic working methods, and several information systems related to client care. You are familiar with the legislation guiding your activities, such as the Act on Care Services for the Elderly and legislation regarding the client's right to self-determination. Teijuntupa is located near the center of Lieto, and the nearest bus stop is approximately one kilometer away. RAI expertise and experience in elderly residential services are considered an advantage. We value good interaction and customer service skills, the ability to act independently and make decisions under pressure, as well as empathy and a genuine desire to work with the elderly. Working in this position requires good Finnish language skills. Eligibility requirements include a vocational qualification in social and health care (practical nurse) or a previous school-level degree in the field, as well as valid registration in the JulkiTerhikki and JulkiSuosikki registers.
