About the role

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Audio Platform Developer to join our Unikie team. In this role, you will work in an international automotive product-development project focusing on embedded audio-platform software. You will contribute to the development, integration, testing, and support of audio functionality for a new and technically advanced product line with multiple hardware and software variants. The role is well suited to an experienced developer who combines strong embedded software skills with hands-on automotive audio expertise. You should be comfortable working in a complex technical environment, solving cross-layer issues, and collaborating with several software, hardware, architecture, and product stakeholders. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Design, develop, and maintain embedded audio-platform software; Integrate audio functionality across different product and hardware variants; Develop and debug software using C and C++; Work with Android audio components, including Audio HAL, AudioFlinger, and the Android Multimedia Framework; Develop, integrate, and troubleshoot Audio DSP and signal-processing functionality; Investigate audio issues across application, middleware, operating-system, DSP, and hardware layers; Work with audio routing, audio policies, platform interfaces, and device configurations; Perform audio testing, measurement, validation, and signal analysis; Analyze logs, traces, audio dumps, and measurement results to identify root causes; Support platform bring-up, integration, release, and validation activities; Collaborate with audio developers, embedded engineers, architects, hardware teams, and customer stakeholders; Participate in software architecture, implementation, code reviews, and technical discussions; Communicate progress, technical decisions, risks, dependencies, and blockers clearly; Contribute to the long-term development and support of a complex automotive product platform. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong professional experience with C and C++; Experience in embedded software or platform-level development; Hands-on experience with Audio DSP or digital signal processing; Experience with Android Audio HAL, AudioFlinger, or the Android Multimedia Framework; Experience in automotive audio or infotainment; Experience with audio testing, measurement, routing, or validation; Practical experience with an audio platform, audio framework, or sound-processing system; Experience with Android, AOSP, Linux, QNX, or another embedded operating system; Understanding of audio-system architecture, integration, and debugging; Experience working across software, operating-system, DSP, and hardware boundaries; Strong debugging, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills; Experience with Git and modern software-development practices; Ability to work independently and take technical ownership; Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders; Good spoken and written English. Considered an advantage: AudioWeaver or another commercial audio-development platform; Qualcomm platform experience; Acoustics knowledge; Hardware bring-up or BSP experience; Experience supporting multiple hardware and product variants; AIDL, HIDL, IPC, or middleware-development experience; Experience with audio calibration or tuning; Experience with automated audio testing and validation tools; Experience with real-time or low-latency audio systems.
