We are seeking an Educational Sciences university intern for the Verkkokampus for the period 15 September – 15 December 2026. Join Suomen Diakoniaopisto (SDO)! You will be on the front line of building a new pedagogical model for the Verkkokampus, based on research-led online teaching and communal learning, combined with work-life relevance. This is not an isolated project — it is part of a broader change in how vocational education is delivered online. As an intern you will observe and participate in how theory becomes practice, bringing your own expertise and fresh perspectives. At SDO’s Verkkokampus you can study basic degrees in social and health care and in education and guidance. The campus also offers joint studies for nearby campuses and individual modules. Verkkokampus is responsible for SDO’s online pedagogy. During the internship: you will learn to utilize AI in a versatile way — for example in planning and producing teaching materials and assignments, and as part of developing the pedagogical model. If you wish and you obtain permission for research, you may collect data on students’ learning experiences and use it for your degree project. Your duties will include: participating in the design and development work of the online pedagogy with the team; designing and producing learning materials and assignments using AI; trying and developing communal learning methods and practices in a online environment; attending team meetings and development discussions where you can bring in your own viewpoints. We want you to thrive at work: we expect you to have desire and enthusiasm to develop vocational education, familiarity with pedagogical models and theories, familiarity with using digital tools to support learning, master’s level studies, and excellent interpersonal skills. We offer: a salary of 1500 euros per month and terms of employment following the private education sector collective agreement, job-specific orientation, and the opportunity to use your skills and strengths. The work community and culture offers a chance to develop as part of a national educational institution and a working community where your expertise is valued. It is important to us that you enjoy working with us and feel safe; we apply principles of a safer environment to ensure everyone has a respectful and comfortable workplace. Recruitment progression: apply now! The application deadline is 25 August 2026. We may proceed with recruitment before the deadline. The first interviews will be held in the week starting 17 August 2026. Interviews will be conducted remotely via Teams.
