
Management Accountant
Lead finance operations. Shape performance. Drive impact across multiple sites. We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Management Accountant to take ownership of operational finance for our manufacturing site in Ulm, while being based in our Wiesbaden hub. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible, high-impact role, leading a small but critical finance team and partnering closely with leadership to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement across finance processes. What You’ll Be Doing Financial Control & Reporting Lead daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial postings Own month-end and year-end close, delivering on time and to a high standard Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee reconciliations Manage accruals, prepayments, and open item resolution Tax & Compliance Oversee VAT reporting, including consolidated returns and EC Sales Lists Ensure full compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and local statutory requirements Support tax activities, including foreign VAT recovery Payroll & Audit Oversee payroll accounting in collaboration with external advisors Lead audit preparation, including documentation and auditor coordination Deliver robust year-end reporting packs and analyses Leadership & Team Management Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team of three Ensure clear task allocation across AP, AR, and accounting Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture Systems & Process Improvement Drive effective use of systems such as DATEV Identify and implement improvements to efficiency, controls, and standardisation Handle complex or non-routine financial transactions as needed What We’re Looking For Qualified accountant Strong expertise in German GAAP (HGB) and VAT Proven track record in financial close and accounting operations Experience with DATEV or similar systems Demonstrated people management experience in a multi-site environment Key Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset High attention to detail with clear ownership and accountability Excellent organisation and time management Confident communicator across teams and locations Ability to balance hands-on delivery with strategic oversight Why Join Us Lead finance across multiple sites with real business influence Broad exposure across accounting, tax, and operational finance Collaborative, supportive team environment in Wiesbaden Opportunity to shape processes and drive continuous improvement #LI-TM1 All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
