Commissioning Engineer – 110/33kV Substation Contract: 12 Month Freelance Rate: Competitive/DOE Hours: Full-time on-site Location: Finland Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the testing and commissioning of a 110/33kV substation in Finland. You will be responsible for executing commissioning activities, verifying test documentation, and ensuring all electrical systems are commissioned safely and in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards. Key Responsibilities Commission and test 110/33kV substation equipment. Perform functional testing and verification of: Circuit Breakers Current Transformers (CTs) & Voltage Transformers (VTs) Disconnectors MV Switchgear AC/DC Auxiliary Systems Earthing and Continuity Systems Review and verify commissioning procedures, test reports, and documentation. Support fault finding and resolution during commissioning activities. Work closely with the project team, client representatives, and commissioning engineers on site. Ensure all commissioning activities comply with health, safety, and quality requirements. Requirements Proven experience commissioning HV/MV substations, ideally 110/33kV. Strong knowledge of primary electrical plant including circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, disconnectors, switchgear, protection, and auxiliary systems. Experience reviewing and completing commissioning test documentation. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and support energisation activities. Good understanding of electrical safety procedures and commissioning best practices. Fluent English; Finnish language skills are advantageous.
