Forestry Project Manager

Forestry Center Finland (Suomen metsäkeskus) is an organization that promotes sustainable forestry, forest-based industries, and supports forest owners in management and utilization of forests and forest nature. The project manager will plan and execute information dissemination events related to forest and nature management and ownership structures for forest owners and professionals, both in the field and online, as part of a regional development project in Kajaani, with a 40% part-time position. The role includes handling the project finances, steering group work, reporting, and developing and executing the communications plan in collaboration with experts. The position is based in Kajaani and is a fixed-term, part-time (40%) contract from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Jul 2028, with a six-month probationary period. Travel within the region is required and use of a personal car is possible. The salary is governed by Metsäkeskus collective bargaining terms, with a base monthly salary of 3,544.60 EUR and an actual monthly salary of 1,417.80 EUR proportional to the time worked, plus potential performance-based pay (0–15% of base salary).
