Let’s try this again. We are looking for a Business Unit Leader for our Energy Business. We had this position open in the Spring time - there were, many good candidates, but we did not find the perfect match yet. We are looking for a business savvy person with vision, expert competence, great existing customer networks, and a start-up mentality. On top of everything, they should fit our values - commitment, curiosity, fellowship and trust - naturally. This is not an easy ask, we get it. The original position was for a Business unit combining energy and industry, but this time the focus is on the energy sector. However, the energy business at Welado means much more than renewable energy production. It is about enabling the entire transition towards a sustainable, reliable and resilient energy system: Our projects span renewable energy, electricity networks, energy storage, nuclear power, industrial transformation, hydrogen, district energy, and other critical energy infrastructure. We help clients develop, build, modernize and maintain assets that are essential for society, industry and national preparedness. As the Energy Business Unit Leader, you will have a unique opportunity to shape Welado’s role in one of the Nordic region’s most significant investment themes: the transformation of energy systems driven by electrification, sustainability, digitalization and energy security. Through our experts, we create impact in projects that matter for society today and for future generations. This role is not about maintaining the status quo. It is for a leader with clear commercial drive, a strategic mindset, strong execution ability, and the ambition to shape where the business should go next. You will lead the current Energy and QC teams (approximately 15 people) and work closely with our Swedish colleagues. Your task is to grow your business unit and team while also leading the Energy market segment and identifying opportunities for the Group's overall business growth. As Head of Energy Business, you take end-to-end responsibility for the business, including: Profitable growth; Overall performance (people, customers, finance, quality); Service and offering development—where we play, with what capabilities, and for whom; Building and leading the team, including capability growth and recruitment as needed; Key accounts and sales; Day-to-day operations (projects, resourcing, forecasting) form the foundation, but the core of the role is renewal and development: seeing a few steps ahead and turning market direction into concrete priorities and a winning plan. What we are looking for We are seeking someone who is: Equipped with excellent, existing relationships with key accounts in the energy (and industrial) sectors; Comfortable making clear priorities: focusing on the right bets and building momentum; An expert with the ability and experience to work on customer projects when needed—whether project leadership, construction management, or another expert niche, depending on your strengths. We are proud that our leaders are experts themselves. They can and want to contribute to customer project success personally and see real value in doing so. Strongly commercial—able to create growth, open doors, and convert opportunities into business; Able to articulate where money is moving right now and where investments are heading next—and turn that insight into choices and action; You take ownership of business numbers (sales pipeline, budgeting, economic estimates, customer and personnel satisfaction) but lead through people. You believe in our values and in a coaching leadership style. Trust and customer access are essential in this role. The ability to quickly enter meaningful customer dialogue is crucial. We particularly value candidates who already have established relationships with key energy and industrial customers, enabling faster access to trust-based discussions and accelerating Welado’s position as a strategic partner. Your background is rooted in the energy sector, for example in: Electrical and automation domains; Large investment projects; Energy, process, or industrial value chains, or leadership consulting; Construction management or project leadership in the energy sector; More important than any single technical niche is your market understanding, customer leadership, commercial mindset, and ability to lead and develop a consulting business. The role is located in Finland, and good command of the Finnish language is required for successful performance in this position. Excellent communication skills in English are also essential, as you will work closely with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders across the Group. Why this role A key leadership position in a sector undergoing significant change A real opportunity to define the direction and build a growth platform within the energy and industrial green transition sectors. A role combining strategy, customer engagement, and hands-on business leadership A salary of 7500–9000 €, depending on experience, and an opportunity to invest in Welado Group If this sounded like the right opportunity for you, tell us about yourself by 31.10.2026. We will be talking with potential candidates already during the application period, so there’s no need to wait until the deadline to get in touch. If you have any questions or want to hear more about the role, feel free to call or message Joonas...
