The position of Senior Constable is located in the field surveillance group of the surveillance and alarm operations unit of the Eastern Finland Police Department's southern field command area. The place of work is Mikkeli. The duties of the Senior Constable include: - versatile surveillance tasks for public order and safety - handling alarm calls - first responder actions at crime scenes and limited preliminary investigation - versatile investigative tasks - other tasks specifically assigned by supervisors The person selected for the position will act in accordance with police values. The task of the surveillance and alarm operations unit is to provide 24/7 patrol operations, public order and safety surveillance, and traffic surveillance within its operational area. The police department's southern field command area covers the region of South Savo and the municipalities of Varkaus, Leppävirta, Joroinen, and Heinävesi. There are four police stations in the area: Mikkeli, Savonlinna, Varkaus, and Pieksämäki. The area is characterized by long distances and extensive water areas. There is a large amount of seasonal housing, a significant number of various events in the summer, and diverse hobby opportunities, especially related to nature. The field command area has partially transitioned to a multidisciplinary policing model.
