Senior Specialist, Recognition of Qualifications and Language Skills Unit - Opetushallitus - Helsinki, Finland

The position is located in the Customer Relations and Information Department, within the Recognition of Qualifications and Language Skills Unit. The Customer Relations and Information Department provides national services for skills development and validation, promotes the utilization of information, and is a strategic partner in the agency's management and service development. The Recognition of Qualifications and Language Skills Unit is responsible for tasks and registers related to general language examinations, government language examinations, language proficiency testing for integration training, the authorized translator examination system, and the court interpreter register. Additionally, the unit is responsible for granting professional capacity based on foreign qualifications, tasks of the competent authority in recognizing professional qualifications, and national dissemination regarding qualification frameworks, academic recognition, and the Professional Qualifications Directive. The Senior Specialist acts as the team leader for language examinations. The team is responsible for general language examinations, government language examinations, and language proficiency testing for integration training. The Senior Specialist also serves as the service manager for the ICT system supporting the general language examinations. The service manager is responsible for operational activities, communication, customer relations, stakeholder cooperation, reporting, and documentation. The role includes guiding and monitoring ICT development teams responsible for digital services related to language and translator examinations.
