Early Childhood Education Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed early childhood education teacher for Nuotti's Pieksopolku site. Here you will find a warm and development-oriented work community and your team colleagues, an early childhood education teacher and an early childhood education childcare worker. For the 26-27 operational period, the task is located in a group for 1-3 year olds, but we hope that you are ready to work with all ages in the future. Daycare Nuotti operates in a new building completed in January 2024, located in the heart of Pukinmäki between two forests. With the new daycare building, completely new opportunities have opened up for us both for the implementation of pedagogy and the development of operational culture. The new premises combine the divided spaces of small daycares with the spaciousness, brightness and common use spaces of the new building: two gym halls, an atelier and dining rooms on both floors. There are six home nests in two floors in the new premises. Two groups always operate in one home nest. The staff structure in most groups is 2 teachers and 1 childcare worker, but there are also groups of two employees and in two teams a social worker works in addition to the childcare worker and teacher. Our unit also has an integrated special group with its own home nest, Swedish language immersion and a forest group. The small side site group Pukinmäki located at Palsamipolku also belongs to the Nuotti entity. Utilizing local nature is an integral part of our pedagogy. Pukinmäki's immediate environment is diverse in addition to the wonderful forests: the library, playground, sports park and athletics field are less than a kilometer from our site. In our unit, we focus strongly on the goals according to the city strategy and in our pedagogy we emphasize the support of peer and emotional skills, strengthening language learning and reading readiness and the construction of the child's relationship with nature as part of holistic well-being. During the current operational period, we have developed our operational culture in a more communal and strength-based direction. As an early childhood education teacher, you are responsible for the construction of your child group's operational culture and learning environment, the planning, implementation, development and evaluation of pedagogical activities and the support of children's individual learning in accordance with the Helsinki early childhood education and pre-primary education plan, the early childhood education unit's operational plan and the child's individual plan (vasu). Eligibility requirements: We require that you have eligibility in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or according to the transitional provision (Section 75) a bachelor's degree in education (lto), a suitable university of applied sciences degree or a previous equivalent institute-level degree, e.g. a kindergarten teacher's or social educator's degree (Act 272/2005 and Decree No. 608/2005). A recognition decision made by the National Agency for Education on the basis of foreign education for the eligibility for the position applied for also fulfills the eligibility requirement. In addition, we require good oral and written Finnish language skills. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A report on the respiratory tuberculosis of those working with children under school age is checked (Communicable Diseases Act Section 55). When you start a permanent employment relationship as an early childhood education teacher with the City of Helsinki in 2026, we offer you an incentive bonus of 2000 euros.
