Job Description
We are seeking two full-time, fixed-term special assistants for the period from August 3, 2026, to July 31, 2027. One position is at Karjalohja Daycare Eulaalia and the other in the pre-primary group at Karjalohja School. As an assistant, you support and promote children's growth, learning, and well-being in the group. You assist and guide children in daily situations to foster independence and participation as part of the early childhood education / pre-primary team. Support can be directed towards individual or multiple children. In the team, you work under the guidance of an early childhood education teacher and a special education teacher to plan the child's day and the group's activities. We require good communication and teamwork skills, flexibility, and a positive and sensitive approach. You are the ideal candidate if you enjoy working with children and this is reflected in your manner. Your work includes supporting the child's participation and collaboration with the daycare staff, guardians, and rehabilitative and investigative professionals. Knowledge of medication administration is considered an advantage. We prioritize staff well-being and development. We are a training-friendly city and support our employees' education. The qualification requirement for the special assistant role in early childhood education is a vocational qualification as a teaching assistant or other relevant qualification or training. The salary level is €2,282.59/month. In addition to the base salary, experience-based pay may be paid, up to a maximum of 8%. A trial period of half the employment duration applies. The employer will determine situations where a health certificate from Keski-Uudenmaan Työterveys Oy’s Lohja office is required within one month of starting employment. A criminal background check as per law (504/2002) must also be provided. Interviews will be held on June 11 and 12.
