The intensive care housing units in Koukkuniemi provide 24-hour institutional residential services for elderly people who, based on their health condition, require special care and attention. Residents in Intensive Care Housing Unit 1 have a background in mental health and substance abuse, and Intensive Care Housing Unit 2 is targeted at elderly people with severe memory disorders. Both units have 10 residents, whose need for special care is typically based on behavioral challenges resulting from memory diseases or mental health disorders. For practical nurses, the job description includes diverse responsibility for the daily implementation of medication therapy, RAI assessments, comprehensive documentation, cooperation with relatives, coordinating client matters with different care providers, and monitoring clients' health status. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team ensuring that the resident's own functional capacity is maintained as comprehensively as possible. What kind of expert are we looking for? - You are a title-protected practical nurse (social care) or a basic care nurse. - You have a hygiene passport and up-to-date medication permits. If any section is missing, it can be completed at the start of employment. - You have a client-oriented mindset, good interaction skills, and a positive attitude toward development. - You have a calm and patient approach to work. - You are proficient in the client and patient information systems used in daily work (Omni360 and Saga). - You are familiar with RAI assessment tools. Start date in the position is August 17, 2026, or by agreement. The position is fixed-term until January 17, 2027. The probationary period is half the duration of the employment. The working time is full-time, averaging 38 h 15 min/week. The work includes morning, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekend shifts. The person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6, subsection 4 of the Criminal Records Act before the employment begins. The selected person must have valid vaccination protection in accordance with Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act (1227/2016). Interested?
