We are looking for an initiative-taking and analytical Operations Engineer to join the availability team for Production Line 3 at the Porvoo refinery. In this role, you are key to ensuring the performance of our refining units. The core of your task is to monitor and develop the operational availability of the units and create the conditions for an even higher utilization rate and cost-effective operation. You will act as the technical expert for your area of responsibility, comprehensively mastering the technical and process characteristics of your area. You will work closely with the operating shift, maintenance, production control, and other stakeholders. The workplace is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, about a 30-minute drive from central Helsinki. We arrange free bus transport for Neste employees to Kilpilahti from the capital region as well as from Porvoo and surrounding areas. Your role in our team: As an Operations Engineer in our 'Availability Team', your goal is to ensure high operational availability of process units in the short and long term. Key tasks: - Monitoring, optimizing, and developing the performance, availability, and energy efficiency of units in your area of responsibility in the short and long term. - Handling deviations, investigating root causes of problem situations, and leading solution groups. - Active participation in the development of process safety, including change management and risk assessments (e.g., PHA, HAZOP). - Maintenance and development of production line instructions and technical documentation. - Participation in the planning and coordination of maintenance work and shutdowns as a production representative. - Acting as a technical expert in the planning and implementation of investment and investigation projects. - Identifying constraints in your area of responsibility and promoting measures to remove them. Keys to success in this role: - Suitable university degree, e.g., Master of Science in Technology or Bachelor of Engineering (chemical engineering, process engineering, energy engineering, or other suitable field). - Evidence of proactive problem solving and a systematic approach to work. - Fluent Finnish and good English oral and written skills. - Excellent collaboration and communication skills and the ability to produce clear technical documentation. - Good ability to work under pressure in a dynamic refinery environment. - Strong safety-oriented mindset and a responsible attitude. - Genuine interest and motivation to learn new things and develop operations. - Previous experience in process industry expert or operations tasks (e.g., oil refining, chemistry, or energy production) is considered an advantage.
