We are looking for care assistants for group homes in the Itäkeskus service home. The duties include home care tasks, such as laundry and clothing maintenance, and kitchen tasks (e.g., dish maintenance). The work also includes accompanying residents to hobby activities, enabling residents' outdoor activities, escorting residents outside the service home, e.g., for examinations/dental care, socializing with residents, and assisting in dining situations. The work includes physical tasks, such as unloading and shelving goods deliveries, transporting/unloading food carts to different group homes, transporting laundry/waste bags to storage areas and the waste room. The work also includes tasks related to care and nursing, such as assisting the resident in daily activities (washing, dressing, toilet visits, meals) as a nurse's partner. The work is 3-shift work including weekends and night work. We interview applicants during the application period. Eligibility criteria: Language skill requirement is good oral and satisfactory written skill in Finnish. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate according to Section 55. The position requires the presentation of a criminal record extract for those working with elderly people (Act on the Supervision of Social and Health Care 741/2023, Section 28). In addition, we require: You are an unemployed Helsinki job seeker and meet one of the following conditions: - you are 15-24 years old - you have reached 50 years of age - you have not completed a matriculation examination, a degree referred to in the Act on Vocational Education or an equivalent foreign secondary education degree - you are entitled to an integration plan referred to in the Act on the Promotion of Integration - you have not been in gainful employment during the previous six months - as an unemployed job seeker, your chances of getting a suitable job have significantly decreased due to injury or illness. At least three years must have passed since the end of the previous wage-subsidized employment with the City of Helsinki before you can be employed again with a wage subsidy for the city.
