Job Details

Responsibilities

Conduct research on structural behavior of perforated steel roof deck systems exposed to fire
Perform furnace fire tests, numerical simulations, and full-scale analyses
Develop modelling methods and design principles for perforated steel roof systems
Collaborate with university researchers, academics, and industrial partners across EU countries
Complete advanced doctoral coursework (30 ECTS)
Publish articles in peer-reviewed academic journals and international conferences
Engage in teaching or advising master's theses
Participate in research group activities and assist in preparing new research proposals

Requirements

Master's degree in structural engineering or mechanical engineering
Knowledge of analysis and design methods on fire resistance of cold-formed steel structures
Skills in non-linear numerical analyses using finite element analysis software (particularly Abaqus)
Skills in delivering CAD drawings
Excellent academic writing and fluent verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
Legal authorization to work in Finland (EU/EEA citizenship or valid work permit)
