Job Details
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on structural behavior of perforated steel roof deck systems exposed to fire
- Perform furnace fire tests, numerical simulations, and full-scale analyses
- Develop modelling methods and design principles for perforated steel roof systems
- Collaborate with university researchers, academics, and industrial partners across EU countries
- Complete advanced doctoral coursework (30 ECTS)
- Publish articles in peer-reviewed academic journals and international conferences
- Engage in teaching or advising master's theses
- Participate in research group activities and assist in preparing new research proposals
Requirements
- Master's degree in structural engineering or mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of analysis and design methods on fire resistance of cold-formed steel structures
- Skills in non-linear numerical analyses using finite element analysis software (particularly Abaqus)
- Skills in delivering CAD drawings
- Excellent academic writing and fluent verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
- Legal authorization to work in Finland (EU/EEA citizenship or valid work permit)
